The new Nikon D5300 will be announced soon, with new features coming to the mid-range enthusiast DSLR. The workhorse of the DX-format DSLR line, the new D5300 boasts a 24 megapixel image sensor, backed by an all-new EXPEED 4 processing engine, built-in Wi-Fi and built-in GPS, all firsts for a Nikon DSLR.
The new EXPEED 4 image processor will be capable of increased frame rates for both continuous shooting and for video capabilities. Build-in Wi-Fi allows remote operation using a tablet or smart phone (Android and iOS) to control the camera shutter and focus point, while broadcasting the Live View display on the mobile device.
Built-in GPS provides geolocation data to be stored with the EXIF data within the image, and instantly locates photographed locations on a map when used with compatible software and web-based image hosting services.
